Every family arrives at private care differently, but the need is always the same

For some families, the decision to arrange private care is gradual, a growing awareness that a loved one needs more support than visits can provide, or that the standard of council-arranged care simply is not good enough. For others, it arrives suddenly: a hospital discharge, a diagnosis, a compensation settlement following a catastrophic injury, a family carer reaching the limits of what they can manage alone.

Whatever brings you here, what you are looking for is the same: carers at home who are skilled, warm and reliable. A care package that is built around your loved one, not around a rota. A care company in the UK that you can genuinely trust to deliver on what it promises, communicate when it matters, and treat every person in its care with the dignity they deserve.

At Seren Healthcare Solutions, that is exactly what we offer across three specialist private care services, each designed for a different level of need.

Three services, one standard of care

Choose the service that fits your situation or talk to us, and we will help you work it out.

Live-in & Respite Care

What is a care package?

Understanding private care, from home health care to complex clinical support

A care package is the personalised programme of support put in place for an individual, covering what help is needed, how often, by whom and to what clinical standard. It is built on a thorough care needs assessment and reviewed regularly as needs change.

Private care packages differ from council-arranged care in one fundamental way: you are in control. You choose the carer, schedule, level of support and provider. Every package Seren builds starts with a detailed assessment of the individual, their health, preferences, routines and goals.

Whether your loved one needs a few hours of home care each week or round-the-clock clinical support, our job is to help you find the right package and deliver it to a standard you can see and trust.

Questions we hear from families every day

What is a care package — and how do I know what my loved one needs?

A care package is a personalised plan of support, built after a proper care needs assessment. It covers what help is needed, how often, and to what standard. You do not need to know the answer before you speak to us — that is precisely what our assessment process is designed to work out. We will ask the right questions, listen carefully, and recommend what we genuinely believe is right. There is no obligation to proceed.

How is private care different from what the council arranges?

With private care, you choose your carers, your schedule and your provider. There is no means-testing, no rationing and no sending different carers each week. Families who move from council-arranged care to private home care services consistently tell us that the difference in quality and consistency is immediately apparent. Our carers are warm, skilled and reliably the same people — which matters enormously for anyone receiving care at home.

How do I find reliable caregivers near me?

Call our team. We serve families across Wales and England, and our consultants take the time to understand your loved one's specific needs, personality and preferences before recommending anyone. We do not fill slots — we make matches we are confident about. Once care is in place, a named relationship manager stays in contact throughout.

What if needs change — can the care package be adjusted?

Always. Private care packages should evolve as the person does. We review every care arrangement regularly and respond to changes in need — whether that means increasing visit frequency, adding overnight support, introducing clinical care, or transitioning to live-in care. Nothing is fixed. Everything is built to flex.

Is private care only for self-funders — or can it be funded other ways?

Private care can be funded in several ways: directly by the individual or their family, through local authority direct payments following a care needs assessment, through NHS Continuing Healthcare for those with a primary health need, through Attendance Allowance, or through a personal injury compensation award. Our team can help you understand what funding routes may be available to you and connect you with specialist financial advisors where relevant.
