When a loved one needs support, finding the right care can feel overwhelming

Whether you are navigating care for the first time searching for home caregivers near you, trying to understand what home care costs, or looking for specialist respite care for an elderly relative the landscape can feel complicated and confusing. It may be your professional responsibility to find a reliable care provider to deliver the right packages of care. There is no shortage of options, but finding a provider you can trust, who will treat your loved one or the person for whose care you are responsible, with dignity and genuine skill, is far harder than it should be.

At Seren Healthcare Solutions, we believe that excellent care at home is not a luxury, it is what every person deserves. Our private carers are experienced, compassionate, and trained to the highest standard. And we believe that once families see the quality of care we provide, the decision becomes clear.

Our full range of home care services sits across three specialist areas. Each is delivered on its own terms, with a care plan built specifically around the individual.

Funding your care at home

Understanding home care costs is one of the most important and often most stressful parts of arranging care for a loved one. There are more options available than many families realise, and we will always take the time to help you understand what may be available to you.

Your Attendance Allowance

A non-means-tested benefit for those over State Pension age with a physical or mental health need. Currently £73.90–£110.40 per week (2025/26).

Local Authority Funding

Following a care needs assessment, your local council may fund all or part of your home care services, depending on eligible needs and finances.

NHS Continuing Healthcare

Individuals with a primary health need may qualify for full NHS funding of their care at home, assessed through a formal NHS Continuing Healthcare review.

Private Healthcare

Many families choose to fund private care directly, giving them the greatest flexibility in choosing home caregivers, service hours and care standards.

Questions families ask us most

How do I know if the standard of care will be high enough?

This is the question we hear most often — and we welcome it. Families who come to Seren having experienced other providers consistently tell us the same thing: the standard of care is noticeably higher, and our staff are exceptionally humble, warm and professional. Every carer is rigorously trained, DBS-checked, and supported by a clinical team. We invite you to meet us before you commit to anything.

Can carers administer medication?

Yes. All of our carers are trained to administer medication safely. This is not an optional add-on — it is a standard part of how we work. Medication management is included in every care plan where it is needed, and is overseen with full clinical accountability.

What if care needs to change quickly — for example, after a hospital discharge?

We understand that care needs do not always allow for long planning windows. Our team works responsively to arrange home care services at short notice where needed, ensuring there is no dangerous gap between leaving hospital and receiving support at home.

How do I find home caregivers near me who are right for my loved one?

Contact our team. We take time to understand the individual — their needs, their personality, their preferences — before matching them with the right private carers. We do not place people; we make introductions we are confident about.

Can I arrange respite care for an elderly relative while I take a break?

Absolutely. Respite care for elderly people and those with complex needs is one of the most important things we offer — both for the individual and for the family carers who need time to rest. Respite can be arranged as regular scheduled visits, planned overnight support, or a longer block of care depending on what is needed.
